Thursday: Bird Song Walks at Oaks Bottom

Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is a fan favorite! It is the largest remaining natural area within the lower Willamette River floodplain and provides important habitat to more than 175 bird species.

This site hosts a variety of meadow, woodland, and wetland habitat. We'll be watching and listening for an exciting array of warblers, nuthatches, chickadees, thrushes, corvids and flycatchers, colorful finches, migrating Western Tanagers and nesting Black-headed Grosbeaks. We'll hope to spy several exciting raptors and waterbirds as well! We hope to spot colorful visitors such as the Western Tanager and Black- headed Grosbeak. Along with a number of Flycatchers like the Olive-sided Flycatcher, Willow Flycatcher, Hammond's Flycatcher, and Pacific-slope Flycatcher.
