Words about Birds Poetry Workshop

In this creative birding workshop, we'll practice observing birds and crafting poetry from our experiences. Together, we’ll write, draw, and learn about nature and the winter birds around us.

We’ll start by gathering inspiration outside on a short walk in our Forest Park Sanctuary.
After we’ve spent some time observing our feathered friends (with a special focus on winter forest birds), we’ll head inside to learn more about a few of these winter birds. Finally, we’ll loosen up with some writing exercises and collaboration to express our experience. In the spirit of learning, we’ll keep it light and fun as we work with words to describe the birds we love!
No poetry or birding experience needed. Total beginners welcome.
Snacks and hot tea provided.

Upon regrouping, we'll map our findings into a collective understanding, deepening our insight into the intricate web of life that surrounds us.
