Join Portland Audubon on the wildlife trip of a lifetime! Kenya is renowned for its remarkable diversity of landscapes, animals, and cultures. Kenya boasts over 1100 species of birds, all of Africa’s “Big 5” mammals, large herds of grazing herbivores, plus fascinating history, friendly people, and delicious food. We’ll explore a wide variety of habitats, including savanna, wetlands, semi-arid scrubland, desert Lava, highland forest, montane grasslands, and rare equatorial forest. In-person Watercolor Painting with Ronna: Shorebirds

This in-person class will be held indoors at Portland Audubon in Heron Hall.  

Join us for an in-person watercolor class with Ronna Fujisawa, an experienced watercolor painter, art educator, and bird enthusiast. This class is appropriate for intermediate and ambitious beginners.  
Many birds reside along the shore of the Oregon coast and wetlands that are difficult to distinguish. This in-person watercolor class will focus on observing the subtle  
differences between various shorebirds: Plovers, Oystercatchers, Sandpipers, and  
Yellowlegs. Students will get to know these lovely little shorebirds by painting several small  
watercolor studies.

PNW Trip: Birds, Bugs, and Wildflowers of Mt. Adams

July is the best time to explore Mt. Adams! Butterflies and dragonflies will be abundant on this trip! We will spend time in the fabulous marshes of Trout Lake looking for Veery, Gray Catbird, and warblers. Another special treat will be the dry forest and marshes of Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge where we will look for American Redstart, White-headed Woodpecker, and Gray Flycatcher. On our last day, we will explore boreal areas with a focus on Three-Toed Woodpecker.

Summer Camp Aftercare

Register for Afterecare! Please select the Monday of the Week(s) of Aftercare you would like to enroll your camper in. Then, select the option for the number of days of aftercare you need for each week.  

To better accommodate parents’ busy schedules, our full-day camps have a start time window between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. and a pick-up window of 3:00 and 3:15 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Camp will run between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Fridays. An aftercare fee of $25 will be charged for any child picked up after 3:15 p.m. (M-Th) and 2 p.m. (Fridays).  

As part of our commitment to support working families, we’re launching Aftercare for the first time this summer. Campers can continue their camp day at Portland Audubon with even more nature play!
